THE top player in City Bowling League competition last night was Alfred Burrows of the TK Falcons who mowed down the pins for a gigantic 640 three game set. Raymond Adderley of Carib Construction came in second with another big set of  614. David Slatter, of Telco Enterprises, downed the pins for a 258 high game followed by a 232 from Greg Taylor of the Coca Cola Avengers.

The ladies MVP of the evening was again Janice Hoyte of Ten Back Strikers who toppled the pins for a 516 high three game set. Hoyte was followed by Xynea Johnson of the Bahamasair Flyers with a 192 high game and a 514 second high set. Driskell Rolle of the TK Falcons struck for the second high game of 188.

THE Pyramid Food Rockets and the Patron Regulators won the New Providence Basketball Association’s double header at the AF Adderley Gymnasium on Monday night.

While the Rockets pulled off a big 83-71 win over the defending champions Commonwealth Bank Giants, the Regulators got by the Double R Cleaners 70-65.

David Taylor scored a side high 26 points with four rebounds in 29 minutes and 54 seconds to lead Pyramid Food to their big win. Christoff Stuart added 20 points with 12 rebounds, Corey Williams had 12 points and six rebounds, Tameko Moxey nine points and Barry Carter six points with five rebounds.

Michael Bain matched Taylor’s 26 points in 31.57 seconds to pace Commonwealth Bank. Kevin Hinsey had 14 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals, Lyndrick Storr had 10 points and five rebounds, Jeffrey Henfield had seven points, nine rebounds and four assists and Robson Memnon chipped in with six points and four rebounds.

Cordero Thompson had a monster game with 18 points and 13 rebounds in 22 minutes to help Patron get another win. Gamaliel Rose had 15 points, 14 rebounds and eight block shots, Kenneth Pratt had 11 points, seven rebounds and four assists and Cruz Simon finished with nine points.

The NPBA is scheduled to be back in action with another double header tonight.
