John Bull has closed its Abaco store, sources familiar with the situation have confirmed to Tribune Business.
The luxury goods retailer shut its Marsh Harbour-based outlet last week, after it had endured successive years of poor performance and financial losses.
There had been suggestions that the store had been closed due to the implementation of Value-Added Tax (VAT), but Tribune Business sources said this was not correct.
The number of job losses could not be confirmed by press time last night. Inga Bowleg, John Bull’s director of business development, has not responded to this newspaper’s e-mails and phone calls requesting comment.

i am told that several businesses , some of them established for several years, have closed in marsh harbour, and that at least one was because of vat.
perhaps the tribune should partner up with the abaconian and do a piece on it.
