What is the worst of the worst?

EDITOR, The Tribune.

The relevant legal authorities should explain to the general society what is meant by the term “The worst of the worst”.

The ongoing disconnection between legal authorities and the community at large has led to the deep mistrust “Joe Average” holds towards our legal system and in some cases the current high incidence of vigilantism.

To a lay person, the legal term “The worst of the worst” seems to run against the scriptural dictum that ALL life is sacred.

In the past four years, we have had more than 400 murders and not one has yet to be deemed “the worst of the worst”. What message does this dubious term espoused by these “learned men and women” send to criminals?

When a young girl is raped, burnt, mutilated and the convicted felon is told his demonic actions are not the worst of the worst, then God help us all.

London will not allow us to have the death penalty because they do not have it there.

It is the same reason that the Privy Council refuses to even hear the case, now pending before them, about the NUMBERS that are written on our voting ballots that allow our votes to be determined.

We cannot have secret ballots because if they ruled in favor then they would be saying that the way Enland is doing it is wrong too - and they do not want to admit a mistake.

Why don't all of you church people get together on Sunday afternoons and have a LARGE motorcade that goes along Bay from the Hilton to Village Road and the up Bernard Road to Prince Charles and across to Fox Hill to the prison? Do this once per month to bring attention to the issue.

You probably would not get enough people to participate. Everybody just wants to believe they they will NOT be one of the 147 people to be murdered this year 2015. (147 - that's my prediction - LOL).
