Buzz with honeybee pollen

By Dr Betty Adderley

THERE are 22 basic elements in the human body, including enzymes, hormones, vitamins, amino acids, folic acids and others. These must be renewed by nutrient intake; no one food contains them all except bee pollen.

Bee pollen is that substance gathered by bees as they buzz from flower to flower. The male seed is mixed with bees’ digestive enzymes. This natural food is raved about by many scientists as a complete nutrition as it contains almost all the nutrients required by the body; it is rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, beneficial fatty acids and bioflavonoid.

Bee pollen strengthens and stabilises capillaries, and are the only plant source that contains the exclusive B12. Bee pollen is also rich in a wide spectrum of at least twenty amino acids which are the building blocks of protein needed to build every cell in the body, from blood cells to cells in the skin, organs and bones. There are also numerous active enzymes in pollen that help the body fight diseases such as prostate and other forms of cancer, arthritis, infertility, stress, and save the body from having to make enzymes, a process that depletes energy.

The ability of bee pollen to regulate and rejuvenate the body, stimulate organs, enhance vitality and accelerate recovery rate, makes it popular not only as a home remedy, but also among athletes. Other benefits include building of the immune system, promoting brain development in children, relief for asthma conditions, increased energy, greater sexual performance, counteracting diabetic symptoms, enhancing skin health, and more.

Many doctors highly acclaim bee pollen. Dr Gabriel Cousens has listed bee pollen as one of his 22 recommended foods for energy.

Dermatologist Dr Eric Essau said: “Pollen has a profound biological effect, preventing premature aging of the cells and promoting growth of new tissue. It smooths away wrinkles and stimulates blood supply to all cells.”

No wonder it is said that most bee keepers live to see 100 or more; the secret is they eat the raw pollen directly from the hive.

Francis Huber, a German naturalist, said: “Bee pollen is the greatest body builder in the world.”

The Intelligence Report Magazine in 1997 stated that President Ronald Reagan admitted that he regularly ate bee pollen bars since 1961.

When interviewed by a reporter who asked him, “It is true that you eat bee pollen bars every day?”, he replied, “Yes , I eat them because I like them.”

The reporter further suggested that she had heard that pollen contributed to his health and kept his hair from turning grey.

Personally, I was taking bee pollen from the late ‘80s and can attest to its goodness. It provides energy and stamina, keeps the body healthy, gives you a more youthful feeling and appearance.

You can obtain bee pollen in tablet or powder form.

Sports enthusiasts who are seeking ways to improve their performance and stamina are becoming more sophisticated in their choice of nutritional supplements. Because of the nutritional benefits of bee pollen, active people are adding this rich supplement to their fitness regimen.

Become wise and healthy, take bee pollen and begin to buzz!
