Commonwealth Bank extravaganza. - The Commonwealth Bank Auto Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, February 21, from 10am to 3pm, at the Commonwealth Bank Wulff Road Branch. Participants: Sanpin Motors, Friendly Ford, Bahamas Bus & Truck and Advantage Insurance. The event includes dealership specials, eats, treats, prizes and a chance to win a 40in Flat Screen TV.

Cycling Club Bahamas. - Upcoming events:

February 21 - 7:15am Time Trial Road Race, 15 miles, Bahamar Blvd, travel to Old Fort Bay roundabout and back at 1min intervals. For details, contact Barron Musgrove call or text 425-057, or email npcyclingassociation2013@gmail.com.

Morning rides west - Wednesday & Friday @ 4:45am Goodman’s Bay, West Bay Street Goodman’s Bay, West Bay Street–@20 mile ride route: Headed East to Montague & return. @1 hour duration- Cyclists capable of 14+MPH welcome Ride leave promptly! – (cyclists are invited to join in anywhere along the route). Afternoon rides west - Tuesdays and Thursdays, leaving 5:30pm sharp- parking lot next to Lyford Cay Gas Station. 18 or 24 miles depending if you do second loop. This is an advanced cyclist’s ride. The pace will range from 20+mph.

Morning ride east - Tuesdays & Thursdays, leaving 5am sharp - start/end Seagrapes Shopping Centre (under the big sign), East Prince Charles Drive: 1-1.5 hour duration. Cyclists capable of 14+mph welcome - Prince Charles Dr- Eastern Road-Shirley St-Church St-East Bay-Eastern Road- Prince Charles. Please have lights attached to your bike.

Weekend rides – Saturday, leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank 30 miles headed west. In order to complete this ride, it is recommended that you have done some recent cycling! Leaving P/I bridges optional at the end. The pace will range from 18–20+mph, two hour duration.

Sunday - leaving 6am sharp from Harbour Bay Shopping Centre in front of First Caribbean Bank, 40-50 miles headed east. This ride is not recommended if you have not cycled recently or first timers! P/I bridges optional at the end, The pace will range from 18–20+mph, 3-3.5 hour duration (intermediate & advanced cyclists are invited to join in anywhere along the route).

Rotary Club of New Providence. - All are invited to join the Rotary Club of New Providence at its 12th Annual Horse Show and Steak Out on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at the Camperdown Horse Stables, Eastern New Providence.

There will be steak and chicken dinners at a cost of $10.00 on sale on the Saturday afternoon between 12pm and 4pm. Throughout the entire two-day event there will be other snacks available; including hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones. Everyone is invited to this two-day fun-filled family event, centered around an exciting Horse Show and competition.

Proceeds from the event will be used to fund the club’s community projects.

The Rotary Club of New Providence is one of the 34,000 Rotary clubs around the world and one of eight clubs in The Bahamas. Rotary is the coming together of like minded men and women inspired to translate their passions into relevant social causes to change lives in communities. Key objectives of Rotary including leadership, integrity, diversity and fellowship are used to achieve its mission which is to provide “Service above Self”.

The Rotary Club of New Providence meets each Tuesday evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at The Poop Deck West. It is a dinner meeting which lasts for approximately one hour. The weekly meeting agenda includes a 20 minutes period reserved for use by guest speakers invited to speak on matters related to the community and country generally.
