PIRATES SHOWCASE
THE Pittsburgh Pirates are scheduled to hold a Major League Baseball showcase for junior and senior players on Sunday, March 8.
Terran Rodgers will be in contact with those players who will be eligible to participate in the showcase which will result in the following changes to our schedules:
The Senior League game will be played at 3 pm between the Braves and the Rangers instead of 2 pm.
The Little League field will be closed to all practice from 10 am to 5 pm.
Terran Rodgers will contact selected 11-12 players and 13-15 players for the scrimmage games.
The schedule for the showcase is as follows:
9am - noon Pirates showcase on senior field.
10am -noon 11-12 scrimmage game on Little League field for JBLN and Grand Bahama players.
1-3pm - 11-12 scrimmage game on Little League field for JBLN and Grand Bahama players.
12-30 - 3 pm - 13-15 scrimmage game on senior league field for JBLN and Grand Bahama players.
3-5:30pm - Braves vs Rangers game on senior field as a senior league regular season game.
“The JBLN continues to provide opportunities for our players to be showcased and be recognised from international organisations, which could result in college, high school and possibly professional careers in baseball,” said Jeff Albury, JBLN commissioner.
BASKETBALL
BSC ACTION
THE Baptist Sports Council is all set to kick off its 2015 AID Basketball Classic at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday. The basketball season is being dedicated to the memory of the late Colin ‘Troppy’ Knowles, a former player, coach and executive of the BSC.
