THE BADLY burned body of a young woman was discovered in her fire-damaged Carmichael Road home early yesterday morning with a black cord tied around her neck.
Officer in charge of the Central Detective Unit, Superintendent Paul Rolle said police were alerted to the house fire shortly after 9am. When officers arrived on the scene, they met a section of the home engulfed in flames.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered the body of the woman, believed to be in her early 20's, lying on a bedroom floor.
She had a black cord tied around her neck, according to Supt Rolle, who added that a black cord was tied around several rafters in the roof.
The incident has not yet been classified.
