Shooting victim dies in hospital from his injuries

THE man shot last week in Eight Mile Rock has died in hospital, pushing the homicide count to four in Grand Bahama for the year.

Lenwood Neely, aka “Sugar”, of West End, Grand Bahama, was airlifted to New Providence and died at Princess Margaret Hospital on Saturday evening.

Neely, 21, was shot in the area of Central Zion Baptist Church, Hanna Hill, around noon on Thursday. He was standing at the car wash when a gunman approached and opened fire.

According to police reports, Neely was shot in the head and was taken by private vehicle to the Rand Memorial Hospital. He was airlifted to the PMH around 8.05pm, but later died of his injuries.

Police have arrested a 47-year-old Eight Mile Rock man in connection with the shooting. Investigations are continuing.
