LAWYER Lanisha Rolle was sworn in as the Free National Movement’s newest senator yesterday.
Senator Rolle received the Instruments of Appointment from Governor General Dame Marguerite Pindling, replacing former FNM Senator Heather Hunt who resigned on January 22.
According to a party statement, Mrs Rolle is an accomplished young lawyer and ordained minister of religion, with two honours Bachelor’s degrees and a Master’s degree. She is also a married mother of three and “hails from Over the Hill”.
Yesterday, FNM Leader Dr Hubert Minnis said that Mrs Rolle’s police experience will raise an informed voice in the Senate, and give input to the FNM’s programme of response to rising crime levels and the fear of crime.
