Three arrests after firearm seizures

POLICE have arrested three men during a New Year’s morning operation in connection with the seizure of two firearms in separate incidents in New Providence.

In the first incident, shortly after 2.30am yesterday, officers on Robinson Road observed a group of males acting suspiciously in front of a restaurant. As the officers approached, one of the men walked off, and when they searched him they found a handgun with a quantity of ammunition in his possession. The 19–year-old suspect was taken into custody for questioning.

Shortly after 8am, operation team members were on Wulff Road and Verbana Street when they saw a Honda vehicle with two men, who attracted suspicions, inside. The officers stopped the vehicle and one of the males got out throwing a handgun inside. The officers retrieved the handgun, containing ammunition, and took the two males, aged 18 and 26, in for questioning.
