BOWLING

CITY BOWLING LEAGUE

THE City Bowling League continued its 2014-2015 season after the holiday break with several outstanding scores in the lanes at Mario’s Bowling and Family Entertainment Centre on Monday night.

Leading the way was Bud Cambridge of Chilly Willy Ice and Marcharia McDonald of Giga Tech who tied the male MVP awards with 622 sets. Richie Pyfrom of Telco Enterprises downed the pins for the high game of 245 followed by another huge game of 242 from teammate Ken Brathwaite.

The ladies were led by an MVP performance from Paula Harts of BEC Shockers who toppled the pins for a 539 three game set. Harts was followed by Marina McClain of Carib Construction with a 202 high game and a 523 second high set. Joann Powell of Bahamasair Flyers dropped the pins for a 201 second high game.

DEATH OF KNOWLES

THE president and executive board of the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association extend condolences to the family of the late Carmel Knowles who passed away yesterday. Knowles was a faithful member of the BLTA family and rendered invaluable service for many years at the National Tennis Centre, ensuring that things were in order. She will be sadly missed by the tennis family. May her soul rest in peace.
