It was a sad situation to see that E J Bowe came to Freeport to deal with VAT compliance only to find out that there were many items over priced in different stores in Freeport.
That situation shed a poor light on the department here in Freeport whose job it is to be on top of those types of situations, especially knowing we the residents of Grand Bahama are basically in dire straits.
I trust that this embarrassing situation will prompt that department head to do what is required of him, that would then trickle down to his staff members who would do what they are paid to do, especially now that VAT is here.
