TRIBUNE Media Group today launched its new, hot Urban Adult Contemporary radio station KISSfm (96.1).

The station, a rebranding of Cool 96, will cater to the 30 to 54 female demographic and play an exciting mix of “old school” songs as well as today’s R&B.

Along with proven personalities Hope Shelly Ann and Kendrick “Big Guy” Williams, new hosts will join the KISSfm airwaves.

Veteran radio personality DJ Naughty will bring his show “Mischief & Mayhem with Naughty in da AM”, which will kick off programming from 6am to 10am.

Naughty has promised that his show will lighten up people’s morning commute with a mix of music and comedy.

“For me, the comedy and the show go hand in hand. The two features seem to work together; the comedy helps the show and the show helps the comedy.

“After 17 years of being the house comic at the Jokers Wild Comedy Club and 16 years touring, I can honestly say comedy provides that relief that people need.

“We take ourselves way too serious at times and we need that comedic relief to come in and ease that tension.”

He added: “That is what I will be bringing to 96.1, well that and all the naughty, rambunctious mayhem that everyone in the Naughty Nation has come to expect.”

Tribune Media Group Chief Operating Officer Ollie Dupuch Ferguson said: “On the heels of the introduction of the Weekend Tribune, this station launch is a part of a number of exciting new initiatives planned this year.

“We look forward to your continued support and invite you to sit back and “Feel The Music!” on KISSfm.

Tribune publisher Eileen Dupuch Carron said: “While our beloved islands face many different political, religious, financial, VAT and immigration challenges, we trust that The Tribune, along with KISSfm (and our other stations) will play a significant role in brightening the lives of all Bahamians - easing your burdens and bringing some excitement, humour and inspiration to your lives as our media business has done for generations.”

KISSfm will also feature a special talk show series, My Life of Crime, with Dr Mike Neville and Big Guy on Tuesdays, running alongside a series of articles by Dr Neville in The Tribune looking at ways to tackle the key issue of crime in our communities.

• Tune in to KISSfm on 96.1 today.
