THE Double R Services Limited Cleaners had to hold off a strong attack by the College of the Bahamas Caribs for a 71-69 victory at the AF Adderley Gym Monday night as the New Providence Basketball Association continued its regular season.

In the other game played, the Real Deal Shockers also had to go down to the wire before they won 93-91 over the Y-Care Wreckers.

Cleaners 71, Caribs 69

With just 59 seconds left on the clock, Dax Evans was fouled, went to the charity stripe and converted his pair of free throws to lift Double R Services Limited to a 71-68 victory as they held on for the win. Alvano Laing had a chance to tie the score with 35 seconds remaining after he was fouled and hit only one of his two free throws for the final deficit.

Laing had tied the score at 69-69 when he also hit just one of his two free throws with 1:18 on the clock.

Tamiko King scored a game high 19 points with nine rebounds to lead the winners. Reynard Minus had 17 points and 14 rebounds and Jorann Adderley added 13 points with seven rebounds and three assists. Rashad Woodside and Evans both had six points with 10 and seven rebounds respectively.

In a losing effort, Justin Smith came up with 16 points, five assists and three rebounds, Reuben Goodman had 12 points and four rebounds, Laing had nine points with 10 rebounds and four assists and Justin Munroe had eight points and eight rebounds.

Shockers 93, Wreckers 91

William Rigby came up with the biggest shot of the game with two seconds left on the clock when he sealed a basket to pull off the close encounter for the Real Deal. Y-Cares had tied the score on a three-pointer from Lorenzo Carter with eight seconds left.

Just before the buzzer sounded, Leon Bain missed a three-point attempt for the Wreckers as the Shockers secured the win.

Floyd Armbrister led the Real Deal with a game high 31 points, five assists and four rebounds. Lamont Armaly had 16 points and four rebounds, Rigby finished with 13 points and eight rebounds, Dominique Beadle had eight points and 12 rebounds, Salathial Dean also had eight points and 11 rebounds and Carlis Carey chipped in with eight points as well.

For the Wreckers, Randy Williams had 23 points, three rebounds and three assists in a losing effort.

Tavares Roker had 17 points, Emeka Watson had 12 points and 14 rebounds, Carter and Kevin Armstrong both had 10 points and seven and four rebounds respectively.

THE top player in City Bowling League competition last night was Ansel Ferguson of Giga Tech, who toppled the pins for an outstanding 244 second high game and a huge 630 high three game set. Runner-up MVP was Alcondo Hepburn of TK Falcons with the biggest game of the evening, a 245 accompanied by his 609 second high set. 

The ladies MVP of the evening was Janice Hoyte of Ten Back Strikers with a big 224 high game and a strong 559 three game set. Hoyte was followed by Marina McClain with a respectable 546 second highset. The second high game of the night was another outstanding game of 211 game from Kayla NixonChilly Willy Ice. 

In other scores, Giga Tech def. Bahamasair Flyers 3-0; Shinning Stars def. Coca Cola Avengers 2-1; TK Falcons def. Checkers Cafe 2-1; Telco Enterprises def. Carib Construction 2-1; Chilly Willy Ice def. BEC Shockers 2-1 and Ten Back Strikers def. Commonwealth Electrical 2-1.
