“We believe that the public is our number one priority and we will communicate with them effectively. During the past 12 months, we’ve made major strides and we believe it’s important that we communicate that to the public.”

This year the club will celebrate the 59th annual regatta. The event will take place in New Bight July 31 to August 3.

“I’m proud to announce this year we will be honouring the late Herbert King. He was one of the most outstanding sailors from Cat Island,” Strachan said.

The ‘Promote Cat Island Regatta Month’ is used to promote the club’s fund-raising events, the history of sailing, the club’s accomplishments and the vision of the president.
