CHANCES are if you’re on Facebook these days and see a fabulous wedding photo shoot, the name Lyndah Wells is attached.

With a fan base of over 9,000 spread out over all her social networks, it is evident that Lyndah’s work speaks for itself.

From engagement events and wedding preparations to bridal showers and the actual big day, the Grand Bahama based photographer gets the chance to do what she loves on a daily basis. Travelling from island to island, she captures the most joyful and unforgettable moments for brides-to-be. Her aim is to one day be the premier photographer for weddings in the Caribbean. But most people would be surprised to know that photography wasn’t always part of Lyndah’s career plan.

“My goal was to open a lighting showroom in Freeport. I actually even went to the trade shows, met with manufacturers and found a retail space, but somehow, somewhere in the six months of this process I shot my first fashion shoot and the response was unbelievable. I got bookings instantly and it went from there,” she told Tribune Woman.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and moving to London at age five, Lyndah is a city girl who has been transplanted to the islands, and she wouldn’t change a thing.

“I’m a mum to two fabulous girls and a wife. I love to dance. I’m known for being a little loud when in company of friends. I have a strong work ethic and love all things glamorous. I bought my first camera in 2008. I registered my business in 2009 and shot my first wedding in 2010. So you could say I’ve been shooting professionally for five years now,” she said.

For Lyndah, photography never feels like work because she is doing something she truly enjoys and loves. She is also certain that other people saw her talent in photography way before she did.

“I have four amazing brothers – three are entrepreneurs and that spirit runs through our blood. My mum Josephine went through a lot when we were growing up all with grace and compassion and she taught me to work hard at what I love. I love her to bits. However watching my brothers, especially the one just a year older than me, Freddy, grow his businesses into global brands and increase his investment portfolio definitely pushes me,” she said.

Lyndah said her client experiences don’t just end at the wedding day celebrations. She appreciates the lasting relationships and bonds that develop with her customers even after the photos have been delivered.

“We keep in touch. A lot of times I receive gifts for me or my two girls and I send thoughtful gifts on special occasions. I want them to return for family photos and more,” said Lyndah.

With her recent Lyndah Wells Photography re-branding, a new logo, website and blog, her intent is to build a strong Caribbean brand, one that excels in imagery, client experience and luxury products. She also just recently expanded and launched ClickBooth Bahamas, a photo booth company.

“I have a small team working on getting me more international exposure and growing my social media reach. I’m based in Freeport, Grand Bahama, but have been in talks with a resort to open a small base in New Providence. Whatever happens, my goal is always to maintain that high standard of client experience that has become synonymous with my brand. I think I have high standards and I always envision how I want to be treated and the level of service that I want when I engage with a company and make sure that all my clients receive this,” said Lyndah.

Responsibilities like fast responses to emails, ease of payment, concise, clear and detailed communication, luxury products and services are important to her and guaranteed when it comes to her brand.

“I have five-star reviews from my couples and I am very proud of this,” she said.

“I have won Wedding Wire’s ‘Couples Choice Award’ for the past two years. This is award is solely based on the reviews from clients.”

interesting article - interesting that she neglects to add (and the writer did not do enough research on this) that she generally only recommends 2nd photographers and videographers out of the United States. She does not play well with Bahamian talent. I
