CHAMPIONSHIPS

July 4 - National Time Trials -

22 miles, starting at 8am

The starting point for the time trial will be at the entrance of the Mt Pleasant Village Park. It will leave at one-minute intervals as cyclists travel along that road, around Clifton Pier, passing the Albany Road taking a right turn on the Frank Watson Highway to the T-Junction at Adelaide Road, taking a left and travelling to the Coral Harbour Road and returning to the finish line along the same route.

July 5 - National Road

Race Championship - 71 miles,

starting at 7am.

The starting point will be at Goodman’s Bay travelling in an easterly direction to the Saunders beach round about, then onto the six-legged roundabout along JFK Drive into Lyford Cay then over Lyford Cay Hill onto Mt Pleasant Road, around Clifton Pier, passing the Albany Road taking a right turn on the Frank Watson Highway to the T-Junction at Adelaide Road.

The route will take a left and travel to the Coral Harbour Road, taking  a left onto the Airport Road and continuing onto the roundabout by Shell Gas Station taking a left onto JKF Road and travelling along the road pass the Airport to the roundabout at Old Fort Bay taking a left onto the Lyford Cay Road and over the Lyford Cay Hill following the same route back to the roundabout at Shell Gas Station.

At Shell Gas Station, the route will take a right onto the JKF Drive Highway, travelling to the Baha Mar roundabout, taking a left onto the Baha Mar Highway, travelling to the last roundabout on the Baha Mar Highway taking a right at the roundabout travelling to the roundabout opposite the Gaming Board back to the start/finish line at Goodman’s Bay.

The cyclists will continue on to the Saunders Beach roundabout taking a left onto the highway to the six-legged round-about then along JFK Drive Highway to the Baha Mar roundabout onto the Baha Mar Highway and back to the start/finish line. Cyclist will do three laps of this circuit before finishing at Goodman’s Bay for 71 miles.

Registration forms can be obtained at Cycles Unlimited and registration will be during the time trial event on Saturday.

CORRECTION IN RESULT

In The Tribune’s edition on Monday, it was revealed that Perry Adderley won the men’s shot put title over Delroy Innis. However, Adderley was crowned the junior champion with a heave of 14.97m (49-1 1/2) and Innis got the senior crown with 14.95m (49-03/4). The Tribune apologises to Innis for the error in the result.
