AS week one in the Bahamas Flag Football League Playoffs kicked off this weekend, it is being dubbed the weekend of the “under dogs.”

Four games were played in the quarter-finals and the lowest seeded team won every game.

In game one, the fifth place Orry J Sands Lady Spartans took on the fourth place Sands Light Lynx. The Lynx would lead the game 6-0 until the final two minutes of the game. That is when the Lady Spartans would seize the victory with a last minute drive and score to win 7-0.

Game two would also come down to the wire as the Summit Academy Ravens and Orry J Sands Spartans would battle in the first game of the male division quarter-finals. The Ravens would take an early 3-0 lead. However, the Orry J Sands Spartans would battle back to score a touchdown, making the score 7-3. The Summit Academy Ravens were able to get a field goal to recapture the lead 10-7 and go on to win the game.

The Vitamalt Light Ravens would dominate on defence in game three against the RBC Lady Lions. The RBC Lady Lions’ offence would periodically stall while the Lady Ravens showed composure and captured the win 12-6.

The sixth seeded RBC Lions would play the third seeded Strongback Rams in the final men’s game of the day. The Rams could not convert on offence and were only able to get a safety all game. The RBC Lions advanced to the semi-finals with a 10-2 win over the Strongback Rams.
