Grand Bahama stabbings leave three in hospital

THREE people are in hospital following separate stabbings in Grand Bahama on Thursday, police have reported.

The first incident happened around 1pm, when a female resident of Russell Yard, Eight Mile Rock, was stabbed by a man she knows at her residence. She suffered injuries in her upper thigh and forearm, and was taken to Rand Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Shortly before 6pm at Bass Lane, Freeport, a man was stabbed with an unknown object in his chest by another man. The victim is in hospital in guarded condition.

The third incident also occurred around 6pm on Bass Lane, where a man was involved in an altercation with two other men. The man told police that the culprits hit him with a cutlass several times about the body. He is listed in serious condition in hospital.

Police are also investigating an attack and robbery incident in the Freeport area early on Friday morning. According to reports, shortly before 1am police were called to the Coral Road area where they saw and spoke with a man, who told them that he had been beaten about the body by a group of man and robbed of cash, jewellery and a cell phone.

Inspector Terecita Pinder said police are investigating all the incidents.
