Police probe overnight shootings and stabbing

POLICE in New Providence are investigating two overnight shooting incidents and a stabbing which have left three people in hospital, including a woman in serious condition.

The first shooting took place around 11pm on Thursday. A man was at Augusta Street, when the occupant of a heavily tinted vehicle shot him in the hand before speeding off. The man was rushed to hospital where he remains in stable condition.

Shortly afterwards, a man was at Eneas Corner and Curtis Road, when the occupant of a black jeep shot him in the hand before speeding off. He was rushed to hospital, where he is reported to be stable.

The stabbing occurred shortly after 2am this morning, when a woman on Robinson Road was attacked by a group of females who stabbed her in the chest. The woman was rushed to hospital where she remains in serious condition.

Investigations in all three incidents are ongoing.
