D’Albenas Agency comes to aid of national boxers

THE d’Albenas Agency has supported our boxing team travelling to Toronto, Canada, as part of the Bahamas national team at the Pan American Games.

The big event starts on Friday, July 10.

The team is scheduled to leave town today and take up residence in the Pan Am athletes’ village in preparation for competition.

In order to complete their months of training, the boxers spent their last weeks doing strength workouts at the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Base in Coral Harbour. They also did technical drills at the National Boxing Gym.

Philip Smith, d’Albenas Agency sales and marketing manager, selected a series of healthy food products from the company’s inventory to support the boxers’ final weeks of training.

In addition, Mr Smith, an avid boxing fan, gave the athletes a few words of advice on their quest for Pan American Games medals.

“Stay focused on your opponents, but in all cases – protect your chin!” he said. The d’Albenas Agency is a long-time supporter of the Olympic movement in The Bahamas. The boxers form part of a 37-athlete strong team representing The Bahamas at the Pan American Games. Other sports being represented include athletics, swimming, tennis and gymnastics.
