A NEW trial date has been set for a teen accused of possession and dissemination of child pornography.
Deontra Demeritte, 18, appeared before Magistrate Andrew Forbes for the start of his hearing into the crimes allegedly committed on December 14, 2014, when explicit photos of an exposed underage girl surfaced on Facebook.
However, the complainant in the matter did not appear and the case was adjourned to November 11 at 1pm.
Demeritte pleaded not guilty to both counts at his initial arraignment in January where he elected to be tried in Magistrate’s Court.
The accused is defended by veteran lawyer Murrio Ducille.
He remains on $5,000 bail.
