Man arraigned for nightclub shooting

A 20-year-old man was arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday on a murder charge in connection with a death that occurred earlier this month.

Tennyson Deleveaux, of Yamacraw Beach, was led into the court complex on South Street in handcuffs yesterday to face the charge.

He is accused of the July 6 murder of 26-year-old Thor Adderley. According to police reports, Adderley was shot outside a nightclub near Arawak Cay. He died in hospital a short time later. Deleveaux was represented by lawyer Tai Pinder in yesterday’s hearing before Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt.

He was not required to enter a plea to the charge and was not eligible for bail.

The matter will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment, which will be served on October 2.

He has been remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until then.
