A 47-year-old Grand Bahama man was found stabbed to death in his home early yesterday in Freeport, pushing the homicide count for the year to nine on the island.

The victim, believed to be Dwayne Stirrup, was found dead in a bedroom and his wife, a public school teacher, is assisting police with their investigations into his death.

According to reports, police were called shortly after 12.30am about a stabbing incident at a residence in the Heritage Subdivision. When officers arrived, they found the husband dead, with injuries to the upper body. Emergency Medical Services personnel examined the victim and found that there was no sign of life.
