GRAND Bahama Police are questioning a 40-year-old man in connection with an incident that has sent a badly injured woman to hospital in Freeport.

According to reports, a 54-year-old woman was found shortly after 8am in an area off Torcross Road, with bodily wounds and bruises.

Inspector Terecita Pinder said investigations revealed the woman was in an argument with a man she knew. A 40-year-old man is assisting police, she said.

Unconfirmed reports on social media claimed the woman was found naked and stabbed at a school campus. However, Ms Pinder said the victim was not found on the campus, but near the back of the school. She did not disclose whether the victim was unclothed.

EMS personnel were called to the scene and took the woman to the Rand Memorial Hospital, where she was in serious condition.
