Flu forces Bennett to cancel London show with Gaga

TONY Bennett cancelled his London show with Lady Gaga last night because of a flu virus, four days before they are due to perform in the Bahamas.

The 88-year-old singer apologised to his British fans on social media. “Sorry to not be singing in London tonight,” he wrote. “I love my fans in the UK and appreciate all the well wishes to get over this flu quickly.”

Lady Gaga told her 47 million followers: “Hey everybody! Don’t worry about Tony, he’s ok! That’s just showbiz sometimes. We’ll catch u next time, we got you!”

Concert promoter Live Nation confirmed the cancelled performance at the Royal Albert Hall, the second of two shows in London. The pair performed on Monday night and are scheduled for Atlantis, Paradise Island, on Saturday.

Bennett and Gaga won a Grammy this year for their collaborative album, “Cheek to Cheek.”
