BEACH SOCCER

SUMMER CAMP

IN a continuing effort to develop the aspect of the game played on sand, two beach soccer organisations have merged to host a highly anticipated camp this summer.

Bahamas Soccer Academy and Quality Beach Soccer are hosting the 2015 Beach Soccer and Futsal Summer Camp, June 29 to July 17 at the BFA Beach Soccer Facility, Malcolm Park.

The facility serves as the national development centre for beach soccer and futsal and it’s located at the foot of the new Paradise Island Bridge on the New Providence side after BASRA and Customs.

The camp will focus on the development of soccer skills in a fun-filled environment with age appropriate activities.

Other games will be offered to keep the programme exciting like capture the flag, foot volley, kick ball etc.

In case of inclement weather, other games and activities will be offered in the indoor and sheltered area.

The facility is equipped with bathrooms and changing rooms and a small kitchen area where lunch will be served to our full day campers.

The camp will be headed by Christian Villi and Ehren Hanna.

Coach Villi brings a wealth of experience having taught physical education for seven years at both the Meridian School and Summit Academy.

He was also one of the founders of the beach soccer programme in the Bahamas.

Hanna also will bring his incredible talent and skill to share with the players having been part of the national beach soccer team since inception. He also played professionally in the Swiss Beach Soccer League, winning the national title in 2014.

Both coaches have participated in numerous regional courses and are accredited CONCACAF coaches.

Campers can choose to participate in either the full day (8:30am to 3pm) or the half day (8:30am to noon).
