Search for armed robbers

POLICE in Grand Bahama are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in the Caravel Beach area.

Reports are that on Friday, February 27, shortly after 8am, police received a complaint that two males, one reportedly armed with a handgun, held up and robbed a business in the Caravel Beach area of cash and other personal items before fleeing. Both males were described as standing 6’2” tall, of slim build and dark complexion.

Abaco stabbing

POLICE in Abaco are investigating a stabbing incident that has left a 34-year-old man of Moores Island with injuries.

On Saturday, February 28, shortly before 1am, police received a report that a male in Moores Island was involved in an argument with another male when he was stabbed about the body. The incident happened at a liquor store.

The victim’s injuries are said to be listed as serious. Police have a 39-year-old man of Moores Island in custody for questioning in connection with the matter.

Building fire

A liquor store in Moores Island, Abaco suffered fire damage on Saturday, police said.

Police were called to the scene of the fire just after 6am on Saturday.

Officers responded and upon arrival at the scene discovered the interior of the building engulfed in flames.

There were no reported injuries. The building is said to be valued at $70,000 and is reportedly not insured.

Police are investigating.
