Rotary Club of New Providence. - The Rotary Club of New Providence took part in the ‘One Bahamas Unity Annual Walk and Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas ‘Rotary Day’.

Members took to the streets at 6am with other Rotarians in the One Bahamas Unity Annual Walk. Some of the members then assisted with the Souse Out, while others conducted a Community Service Project - furniture re-upholstering at the finished line (on site).

The three-hour community service project involved re-upholstering living room furniture for one of the three homes, which is located on Fleming Street. James Anderson, the club’s Service Project Chair brought M & M Upholstery on board to provide technical and professional assistance to complete the work.

Club president Jipcho Johnson expressed his excitement in the work that club is able to do on a weekly basis. He stated that this kind of hands-on project is the type of community service that the club enjoys doing.

This event was covered by various television and radio stations such as ZNS, JCN and Love 97, the Rotary Club of New Providence also did a live stream. Each of the 22 members present on this “Rotary Day” helped in one way or the other to make this service project a success.

The head of the household thanked members of the club for their support, and the owner of M&M Upholstery and his team for their involvement.

The club also repaired broken glass in the windows when the living room furniture was returned. The work was led by one of the club’s past presidents, Ken Strachan.
