POLICE arrested two men, aged 18 and 25, in the early hours of yesterday in connection with two of the country’s most recent murders.

Around 1am, officers from the Central Detective Unit, acting on a tip, arrested a 25-year-old male in connection with the murder of 28-year-old D’Antoine Burrows, who was shot in Nassau Village on March 6.

Police said two men were at Alexandria Boulevard in the Nassau Village subdivision when two men armed with a handgun and an assault rifle approached them. The men ran and were pursued by their attackers.

One of them, Burrows, tried to flee to a nearby barbershop but fell and was shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also arrested an 18-year-old male around 4am yesterday in connection with a double murder through Plantol Street on February 16.

The victims were identified as Rennardo Johnson, aka “Sir Q”, and Henry Johnson. Police said the victims were standing in front of a residence off East Street when the occupants of a silver jeep opened fire on them.

The two men died at the scene and two others were taken to hospital by ambulance. Investigations into both matters continue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.
