Three US visitors arrested over stolen boat

THREE people from the United States, including a juvenile boy, are in police custody after they were found in possession of a stolen boat.

According to police reports, around 11am on Wednesday, officers in Eleuthera, acting on intelligence, went to a marina in Spanish Wells, where they arrested the three suspects from Florida on board the 25-foot stolen boat.

The vessel was reported stolen from Marsh Harbour on Tuesday, March 10.

Investigations are continuing.

In other crime news, police are asking for help in locating a man who robbed a woman of her vehicle then set it on fire.

According to reports, shortly after 1am on Thursday, a woman pulled up to her home on Yamacraw Hill Road when a man armed with a handgun robbed her of her burgundy coloured sports utility vehicle (SUV) and sped off.

A short while later, police found the vehicle completely destroyed by fire on Lobster Avenue off Solider Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 at 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 328-TIPS.

Police also arrested 25 people in a special operation in southwestern New Providence.

Ten people were arrested for housebreaking, possessing dangerous drugs and causing damage and 15 others for outstanding court warrants.

Police also confiscated a weapon and recovered a stolen vehicle.
