BOXING

HEAT IS ON

CHAMPION Amateur Boxing Club is scheduled to present “The Heat is on” amateur boxing show at the Wulff Road Boxing Square 6pm March 1. In the showcase will be Lennox Boyce, Donovan Taylor and Don Rolle.

Awards will be presented to the most improved boxer, most outstanding boxer, best fight and the overall club trophy. All amateur boxers and boxing clubs are welcome to participate.

LEAGUE

THE most valuable player (MVP) from the City Bowling League competition Monday night was Lee Davis of the Ten Back Strikers, who mowed down the pins for a 639 high three-game set. The runner-up was Byron McClain of Carib Construction with a 236 high game and a 592 second high set. The second high game was 231 from Kevin B Williams of Chilly Willy Ice.

The ladies MVP of the evening was Joanne Powell of the Bahamasair Flyers, who toppled the pins for a 211 high game and a 527 high three-game set. The runner-up was Tara Johnson of Commonwealth Electrical, who dropped the pins for a 201 second high game and a 521 second high set.

RUGBY

BAHAMAS VS

BERMUDA

THE big international game between the Bahamas national team and the visiting Bermuda team is all set for 4pm Saturday at the Winton Rugby Centre. The match is a NACRA North Caribbean Qualification Division. Prior to that match, there will be two others with Freeport playing Nassau in an U-29 game at noon, followed by a a showdown between the Nassau Renegades and Princeton University at 2pm.
