Part of man's leg amputated after injury at sea

A MAN had part of his right leg amputated after an injury at sea, police in Grand Bahama reported.

The incident took place just before 10am on Wednesday.

Police said a 62-year-old male of Queens Cove, Grand Bahama, was reportedly working on a vessel at sea, when he received injuries which resulted in the lower part of his right leg being amputated.

The victim was taken to land where he was met by EMS personnel who transported him to the Rand Memorial Hospital. His condition is said to be listed as stable.

Police are actively investigating.
