A MAN appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday accused of being involved in shooting that left one man dead and two others in hospital earlier this month.

Kevin Tulesnord, 19, of Isabella Boulevard, stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt facing a charge of murder and two counts of attempted murder stemming from a late-night shooting on March 6.

Tulesnord was told that he was not required to enter a plea to any of the charges at this stage, because they are indictable offences.

It is first alleged that he, being concerned with others, intentionally and by means of unlawful harm, caused the death of 58-year old Theophilous Thompson.

It is also claimed that in the process he attempted to murder Neko and Rashae Lundy.

Shortly before 11o’clock on the night in question, Mr Thompson was sitting in his car with a woman in front of her home on Podoleo Street when a group of men armed with handguns opened fire on the home.

The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Mr Thompson was shot multiple times in the chest, but his girlfriend was unharmed. The Lundys, who were standing a few feet away from the home, were shot — the man in the thigh and the woman in the leg. They required hospital treatment.

Mr Thompson sped off in an attempt to drive to the hospital, but crashed a short time later on Montrose Avenue.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance, but later died of his injuries.

Tulesnord, alias Johnny, is scheduled to reappear in Magistrate’s Court on May 11 when it is expected that his case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for a formal arraignment and fixture of a trial date.
