The offseason acquisition of Melisha Peterson and Vernisha Moss was a vital component to Super Value’s comeback on Saturday as they levelled their series in their quest to win their first championship crown.

Peterson, in 39 minutes, came up with 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead their attack. Moss, in 32 minutes, had 16 points and 19 rebounds. Tracey Lewis helped out with 18 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists.

Suzette McKenzie, a big offseason addition to Johnson’s veteran squad, had a side high 13 points in 31 minutes. Glenda Gilcud came off the bench with 12 points and four rebounds. Jakia Brown had nine points.

The Cybot Queens, coached by Wayde Watson, led from start to finish. They opened the first quarter with a 23-11 margin and extended it to 36-21 at the half. In the third quarter, Super Value went up 58-38, but Johnson’s, coached by Penial Bain, rallied back to outscore their rivals 29-24 in the fourth. It just wasn’t enough to make any serious dent into the lead.
