Davis should not represent anyone

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Although, for the present, he may continue to sit in the House of Assembly, in my opinion Philip Davis does not deserve to be called honourable.

If the Minister of Works were really concerned about the public’s interest and saving money for the Bahamian people, he should have had the BAMSI file on his desk the day of the fire, not eight weeks after.

Mr Davis should have known and would have been aware of what was in the file the day the contracts were signed, therefore making it unnecessary for him to tell Parliament that the policy had lapsed when the contractor failed to renew the premium because of delays in construction.

When Mr Davis stood up in the House he would have known or should have known that there was never an insurance policy in place for the building that was destroyed, and should not have said that there was. It is my personal opinion that Mr Davis knowingly and wilfully told members in the House of Assembly an untruth.

Outside of the House it is called a “Bold face Lie”.

Mr Philip Davis, in my view is not “a fit and proper person” to represent anyone in the House of Assembly and he will find that out soon and very soon. Two years from now is a short time.

This is the ideal time for the constituents of MICAL, Cat Island/Rum Cay/San Salvador and Centreville to sign petitions for their MPs to resign ........... and save these proud Bahamians the disgrace of hearing these three men standup in the House of Assembly and say "Mr. Speaker, I stand to speak on behalf of the good people of ............... ". Lil Brave, PGC and VAG cannot honestly say those words anymore on behalf of those "good people".

This is where a true referenda must be able to recall dishonorable MPs on behalf of constituents .................... can you imagine how good this must make Doc Rollins and GMoss and Renward feel???????????

3 months and they still don't know who had insurance at the time of the fire??? That would have been the first thing I checked. Does everyone have insurance, who knows when the next unpaid employee loses it... 3 months and they don't know
