DONNA Vasyli, the wife of murdered millionaire podiatrist, Phillip Vasyli, was denied bail a second time by Senior Justice Stephen Isaacs today.

The 54-year-old Australian widow was told by the judge that he was not minded to exercise his “undoubted discretion” to grant bail given the seriousness of the offence, no unreasonable delay in the case, sufficient evidence of probable cause and the possible penalty of murder creating an incentive for her to abscond.

Vasyli and her lawyers, Elliot Lockhart, QC, and Murrio Ducille, will have to file an appeal to the Court of Appeal if she wants to be released on bond before trial in connection with the March 24 murder at their Old Fort Bay home.
