THE family of Alejandro Bain has offered a $5,000 reward for any “substantial” information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of the 27-year-old father.

Family members claimed that the April 2013 shooting death of their brother has left relatives “shaken and grief-stricken.”

“It been hard, everyday you feel the grief because it is eating away at you because you know that your family member is gone and there has been no justice in the case,” said a sibling of Mr Bain who did not want to be named.

“You want to move on but he deserves justice. We have been behind officers, sometimes three to five times a month, in CDU asking if there have been any changes. They’re not doing enough while we are left to pick up the pieces,” his sibling added.

According to initial reports, Bain was involved in a verbal dispute with another man over a woman inside an establishment on Blue Hill Road South. When the argument escalated the men moved to the outside of the South River Restaurant and Bar.

Reports indicated that it was at this time that Bain was shot by the unidentified man multiple times in front of onlookers.

Police reports added that the shooter fled the area in a gold coloured Buick Century with two other men.

The Bain family is on a quest to get the murder solved.

“We want the person or persons responsible for his death off the street. Ali (Bain’s alias) loved his family, loved the people around him, we want to get justice for him, because he deserves it,” his relative said.

“He has a son, four years old, that will never get to see him, that little boy deserves justice.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 911 or 919, the Central Detective Unit at 502-9991 or Crime Stoppers at 328-TIPS.
