BASKETBALL

EXHIBITION GAMES

THE Bahamas Basketball Federation is scheduled to host the Montana State University Bobcats ladies’ basketball team in two exhibition games at the Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium next week.

The Bobcats, coached by Tricia Binford, are coming off a 15-15 win-loss record that includes an 11-3 home record, 3-11 on the road and 1-1 on neutral ground.

Montana State, who just signed Madisyn Shaide, a 5-7 guard from Missoula, and Rebekah Hatchard, a 5-8 guard from Adelaide, South Australia, have inked to play for their programme next season, and are slated to play the Bahamas ladies All Stars 7pm Monday and the NPWBA champions, Johnson Lady Truckers 7pm Tuesday.

SOFTBALL

NPSA OPENING

THE New Providence Softball Association has announced that its 2015 season will begin on Friday (May 15) with two games and a short opening ceremony and ring presentation to the 2014 champions in the ladies and men’s divisions.

The schedule is

as follows:

7pm - Sigma Brackettes

vs Sigma Wildcats

8:30pm - Opening

ceremony

9pm - Commando

Security Truckers vs

Ira Dez Hitmen.

The association expects to have a total of 12 teams - six ladies and six men - participate this year.

BOXING

STAND UP SHOW

CHAMPION Amateur Boxing Club is scheduled to hold its ‘Stand Up’ amateur boxing show at the Wulff Road Boxing Square 7pm May 30.

The event will showcase boxers from the Champion Amateur Boxing Club, Meacher ‘Major Pain’ Amateur Boxing Club, the Southside Marlins Boxing Club and the Strikers Boxing Club.

Awards will be presented to the most improved boxer, the most outstanding boxer, the best fight and the overall winning club trophy. All amateur boxers and boxing clubs are welcome to participate.

SUMMER

MADNESS

THE newly formed Bahamas Summer Madness is scheduled to host its first Division 1 Women’s College basketball exhibition games at St George’s Gymnasium in Grand Bahama.

Morehead State University is slated to take on the Grand Bahama All-Stars July 30 and the Lady Flames on July 31. Both games are all set to begin at 7pm.

The organisation is headed by Sean Bastian, who previously worked with the Bahamas Basketball Federation’s Summer of Thunder men’s exhibition series in New Providence.
