NPCA WEEKEND

THE New Providence Cycling Association is expected to be back in action with a time trial and road race this weekend. On Saturday, starting at 8:30am, the time trial is scheduled to start at Mt Pleasant Village just after Lyford Cay Hill and will cover a 15-mile route for the senior riders. The open men/women, junior boys and girls and masters will cover 10 miles.

On Sunday, the road race will start and finish at Goodman’s Bay beach. The event is slated to begin at 8am and will cover 39 miles for the senior competitors and 24 miles for the open men/women, junior boys and girls and masters. The registration fee is $15 for adults and $8 for children.

THE Baptist Sports Council has announced that its 2015 Doc’s Pharmacy Cycling Classic is scheduled for Saturday (June 13) at the National Cycling Track at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex.

The event is set to start at 10am and will feature competition for male and female in the under-10, under-15, under-20, open (for competitors 20 years and older) and masters (for competitors 50 years and older).

Each category will compete in two races from one to five laps to determine the overall winners who will receive a trophy. The top three finishers in each race will be presented with a medal. The church with the most participants will be presented with a team trophy.

The registration fee for the event is $5 for adults, $3 for high school students and $1 for children under 10.
