“Shut mout catch no fly” is a little ditty that most Bahamians know about. In addition to flies, a shut mout will also keep one’s foot from being put in it.
Of course one cannot predict what may be printed in some other part of the newspaper, when your pronouncements are reported, but the Prime Minister seems to have put his foot in his mouth, by indicating in the House, that he has time to draft legislation to disqualify party switchers like Rollins and Wells.
In the same Tribune edition as this report was published, “Save the Bays” published a paid advertising wrapper, showing a Space Shot of Clifton Pier, awash in oil, diesel or gasoline.
If we don’t have any legislation to punish people for this kind of environmental destruction, then Mr Christie might spend his time better, by drafting legislation to criminalise it. If we do have legislation to deal with this, then he should instruct Dr Nottage to have the police investigate it, and charge the people, or institution, which let it happen.
If Mr Christie still has time on his hands, he might also consider making it a criminal offence, for anyone to ignore, or circumvent, a Supreme Court Judges Order to do something. As in the case of the unlawful development at Blackbeard’s Cay.
And if Mr Christie continues to have time on his hands, after all of this, I am sure that a laundry list of more important legislation, or enforcement needs, can be drawn up for him.

This is a great article and very true. I also read today another article where the writer was ggoing on about issues and made the statement that the country was in crisis. Most intelligent ppeople agree our country is in crisis, the worst government in history etc etc. However, on the other side of the coin, there is discussion about how they fear the PLP will get back into power. How is it, if so many Bahamians feel the country is in the worst shape ever, there is still great support for the Governing Party? Who would, in their right sense still want to see another term of this Government? Are there so many Bahamians, so blinded by corruption and cronyism that they would sell their own country down the stream? I guess so.
