Camperdown Plant Sale. - The Plant Ladies of Camperdown are back by popular demand with their seventh annual Camperdown Plant Sale this Saturday.

The sale is always a much anticipated event for the gardening community.

Sarah Lobosky’s garden on Soursop Street in Camperdown is the venue for this year’s sale and the four Camperdown Plant Ladies will be there to answer questions and give gardening tips.

Ms Lobosky, Joanna Robertson, Alison Albury and Cindy Wilde have been gardeners and plant enthusiasts for many years and always have extra plants to sell.

These ladies work all year to produce healthy and vibrant varieties of bromeliads, orchids, palms, ferns and many other plants which are offered to the public at very reasonable prices.

Guests will find tables of plants from which to choose.

According to the Plant Ladies, with such a wide price range – $5 and $10 tables as well as excellent prices on all other plants – and a wide variety from which to choose, no one will want to leave empty-handed.

In addition, the scaffolding in the garden will hold a wide variety of hanging baskets as well as a ‘Tillandsia Wall’ again this year. There also will be a table of crafts and pepper jellies.

Each year, the ladies choose a charity to which a percentage of their profits are donated. This year their choice will be hurricane relief.

There is no entry fee, so guests can come and browse, mingle with other gardeners and buy some plants.

There will be free refreshments as well.

“It is an event you won’t want to miss,” the Plant Ladies said.

Gates open at 9am. Follow the signs on Eastern Road and Prince Charles Drive to arrive at the popular plant sale.
