Disney lends a hand

Minnie and Mickey Mouse bringing a little bit of Disney cheer to children at Albury Sayle Primary School.

SCHOOL children sampled a little piece of Disney magic yesterday thanks to a team from the company’s cruise ship visiting Nassau.

Members of the VoluntEARS team from the Disney Dream ship - along with Mickey and Minnie Mouse – visited Albury Sayle Primary School to spread a little cheer in celebration of this holiday season.

The group visited classrooms, and Mickey and Minnie helped to inspire the children’s love of reading by providing 600 Finding Nemo Read-a-Long books, one for each student.

Since 2013, Disney Cruise Line crew members have enjoyed visits to Albury Sayle Primary School classrooms as part of Disney Cruise Line’s Reading Together program.

Through the remainder of this year, Disney Cruise Line will host similar holiday visits in other ports of call throughout The Bahamas and Caribbean.

The Disney VoluntEARS programme provides opportunities for workers to volunteer their time to help communities around the world. Each year, cast and crew members donate thousands of hours of their time to benefit worthwhile causes in port communities around the world.
