A time of fun and fellowship is what New Destiny Baptist Cathedral promises when the church hosts its steak-out and fair in the upcoming weeks.

With the “hallmark of excellence” behind everything the church does, including its service to God and the community at large, organisers said this year’s event will be nothing short of spectacular.

Church members are also excited for the event, given that it is the first to be held in several years, according to the fair’s chairman, Deacon Daniel Davis.

The event will be held on October 3 at The Heritage Site, Arawak Cay, from 12noon-6pm. The public is invited to attend.

Deacon Davis said that the steak-out and fair will be packed with activities, food and fun for all.

“We have not had a church fair for a long time, and we are truly excited about this one. There will be bouncing castles for the kids, hoopla, games, snow cones, cotton candy, pastry stalls and much more. We are having some additional games this time around,” he told Tribune Religion.

Deacon Davis said even though this year’s event will be smaller in scale than the last one held by the church, it will still be just as entertaining and fun-filled.

“There will be fun for all. There will be fun for the kids, there will be fun for adults. This will be a time where church members can come out with family and friends to socialise get to know each.

“We have a big church and some people do not know one another, so this is an opportunity for them to that,” he said.

New Destiny was opened on May 11, 2002, after Apostle Delton Fernander received a call from God to embark on a new journey. The church is currently located on Baillou Road.

Founding members are Apostle Fernander, Minister Richard Munroe (deceased), Deacon Norman Dean, Deacon Haverson McKenzie and Elder Fealy Demeritte Jr.

“New Destiny is unique and it is not the original baptist church. Our services are unique, the preaching and the teaching is unique,” Deacon Davis said.

“I just want to encourage people who have not purchased ticket to do so. Let us all fellowship with one another.”

Tickets for the event are available at New Destiny Baptist Cathedral. For more information, contact 326-8057.
