IMMIGRATION officials arrested three illegal migrants this week at a resort near Williams Town, Grand Bahama, where they were making plans to be smuggled into the United States.

The migrants who were all men – an Ecuadorian, Venezuelan and Dominican – had entered the country legally, but had overstayed the time given on entry into the Bahamas.

Two of the migrants, who had been recently deported from the United States, were in the process of attempting to illegally re-enter that country.

They were flown to New Providence where they will be detained at the Carmichael Road Detention Centre to await repatriation.
