CYCLING

MUSGROVE

TOUR DE NEW

PROVIDENCE

THE Bahamas Amateur Cycling Federation is scheduled to hold its annual Bertram ‘Cowboy’ Musgrove Tour De New Providence Cycling Classic over the weekend of October 30 to November 1. The event is designed for competitors in the level 1 for male, level II, level III and level IV for men and women.

On Saturday, October 30, all levels of the individual time trials over three miles is slated to begin 7am at the Frank Watson Highway. Then at 8:15am, the circuit road race, covering 24 miles, will follow.

On Sunday, November 1, the level I and II 50 miles road race will start and finish at Goodman’s Bay, starting at 6:40am. The levels III and IV, covering 30 miles, will follow at 7:40am.

There will be prizes for the oldest cyclists, youngest cyclists and the most aggressive cyclists.

BOWLING

DOUBLES TOURNEY

THE Doubles Bowling Tournament, under the auspices of the Bahamas Bowling Federation, is all set to be held on October 17 at Mario’s Bowling and Family Entertainment Palace. Interested persons are asked to contact Clayton Gardiner, BBF treasurer, tournament director and public relations officer, for more details.

SOFTBALL

BSC CLASSIC

THE Baptist Sports Council has announced that its 2015 softball classic will begin at the Banker’s Field in the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Saturday, November 7.

The league will feature competition in the under 15, under-19, co-ed and men’s division. The registration fee is $200 per team per division.

VOLLEYBALL

BSC CLASSIC

THE Baptist Sports Council has announced that its 2015 volleyball classic will be held at the DW Davis Gymnasium on Saturday, October 31.

The league will comprise of the ladies and men’s divisions or a co-ed will replace the ladies if there isn’t sufficient teams. The registration fee is $200 per team. TRACK MEET

BECAUSE of the public holiday weekend, the Baptist Sports Council has announced that it will move its 2015 track and field competition from Saturday, October 10 to Saturday, November 14 at the Thomas A Robinson Track and Field Stadium.

At that time, the BSC will attempt to introduce its battle of the band, step and banner competitions between the various associations within the Baptist organisation.
