AHP team swings into action to help hurricane relief

CONCERNED citizens, individual and corporate were quick to team up with Asa H Pritchard Ltd (AHP) to send $30,000 worth of relief as Hurricane Joaquin raged through the southern Bahamas islands earlier this month.

Though businesses were ordered to be closed by 1pm on Friday, October 2, staff and volunteers at AHP, an established wholesale importer and distributor of food, groceries, restaurant supplies and equipment on Robinson Road, remained at work for several hours after that to prepare for the disbursement of relief supplies to those islands hardest hit.

“Remaining at work was the right thing to do as it gave us the opportunity to be ready first thing Monday morning to send out supplies,” said Anieka Major-Hanna, marketing manager of AHP.

Donated goods totalled over $30,000 and included food and personal care items from Kamalame Cay in Andros and The Landing in Harbour Island.
