GRAND Bahama police are investigating two armed robbery incidents in the Lucaya area this week, one of which included a sexual assault.
Around 2pm Monday, police said a woman was accosted by a man in Lucaya and robbed of cash, jewellery, and sexually assaulted.
An hour earlier, around 1pm on Monday, a couple on the beach in Lucaya was robbed at gunpoint by two dark males of cash, jewellery and other personal items.
Inspector Terecita Pinder said police are actively investigating these matters.
• In other crime news, police arrested a 26-year-old man of Pioneers Loop, Freeport, after he was allegedly found with a black pistol in his possession. Officers of the Mobile Division arrested the man in the Coral Road area shortly after 11pm on Monday.
The man is expected to be formally charged in the Freeport Magistrate’s Court this week.
