Evangelistic Temple’s ReBirth Youth Ministry is inviting all believers to a night of pure worship on November 6.

Under the theme “ReFresh”, the event will take place on the church grounds featuring the ReBirth Worship Band and the Treasures in Earthen Vessels Dance Ministry. It is expected to be an evening of corporate worship beginning at 7.30pm. A nursery and child care services will be available to parents.

Ministering to Bahamians for the past 80 years, Evangelistic Temple members are excited to host for the very first time an event that is already received lots of interest.

“This event will be an opportunity for any and everybody to come together regardless of denominations and worship our Saviour, God and King as one body,” said Keno Smith, youth pastor at Evangelistic Temple.

“This event provides opportunity for families to worship together; it provides a positive outlet for teenagers especially and allows persons from differing backgrounds to meet on common ground and that common ground is the desire to worship Jesus.”

Pastor Smith said the senior pastor of Evangelistic Temple, Rev Dr Vaughan Cash, has made it very clear that he believes the youth of the church are vital to the health and the longevity the institution, and so he is always looking for and open to opportunities for young people to be intimately involved in the life of the church, and to take the lead when they are available and able.

“When I approached Pastor Cash about having a night of worship planned, led and executed by the ReBirth Youth Ministry, he was on board 100 per cent. Of course ‘night of worship’ services are not new to the Bahamas, however, there aren’t many, if any, that are youth planned, led and executed, and that may be part of the reason there is such a high level of interest, especially from other youth ministries,” said Pastor Smith.

Highlights of the upcoming event will include a worship selection led by the ReBirth Worship Band, the youth band at Evangelistic Temple. The aim is to encourage and inspire the youngsters in attendance when they see their peers not only worshiping but leading as well.

“The goal behind ‘ReFresh’ is to encourage our youth to worship, to get them exited about worship and to show them the importance of worship in the life of a believer. We want them to experience the benefits of worship, the peace, the joy and the presence of God. I believe God moves in a unique way individually and corporately when we worship Him, and I want with all my heart for all young people to experience that for themselves,” said Pastor Smith.

He is also looking forward to seeing what God is going to do in the lives of the persons that come out and attend what he said is sure to be an unforgettable evening.

Pastor Smith is also hoping for fellowship amongst other believers and hearing testimonies.

Already planning for an expanded event in the future, he said members expect to put together and host three ReFresh services in 2016. “We fully expect for this experience to grow not just numerically, but spiritually, as our youth experience and learn more about worship. I have already had several conversations with Pastor Bjorn Burrows (president of the Christian Youth Leaders Network) about how we can partner in the future to get youth ministries from other church’s participating in the service, and while details still have to be worked out, we are both excited about the possibilities in the making,” said Pastor Smith.
