The week in Nassau

EDITOR, The Tribune.

Sort of aging myself, but I recall when visiting London back in the “60’s”, there was a Saturday evening TV programme - “That was the week that was”...Sir David Frost was one of the presenters as were a number of Cambridge and Oxford grads...A great laugh over the politics of the time and the current issues.

This week in Nassau, reminded me of the programme and I imagined how that programme, would have looked at the week that was!

Never seen so many QCs in town at any given time. Question: When you have more than one QC, what do you call them... A “gaggle”? Boy talk about economic impetus, the government could never have created this, even with their love of flying here and there and getting nowhere.

Conflict - but no conflict that was certainly the question. Shakespeare would have some choice words, on the rather simple understanding of such a small word.

Those Talk Shows - living with in Alice in Wunderland...from reality to revolution to everything in between, you get a snap-shot of what is wrong, seriously wrong.

Without the Talk Shows, you would not have those chronic professorial callers in – OMG they pride themselves that not only can they save The Bahamas, but the world and what.

I have to ask when is a Professor a Doctor of, but there is no proof that he is either? One Talk Show so loves to bring these people on with the titles and they talk theory, which does not make sense.

Then the super spin Ministers – couldn’t they hear what Statistics was saying concerning the unemployment stats? The visit of one Minister to PI hotel refurbishment project, which was supposed to have opened months ago – what is happening around the Holiday Inn on West Bay? Not another sad story.

The Pointe – significant that the new owners, the Chinese, spelt the name the French way. The US Embassy must be thrilled with their new neighbours.

This was the week that was...2015 Nassau-style...folks we could not do it better!
